- Enhanced DBS with barred list checks (£36): This includes everything in the enhanced check and also checks if the individual is on the list of people barred from the role they are applying for. This is most commonly needed if someone is working with vulnerable groups such as children or adults at risk.
For most tradespeople working in domestic settings (like plumbers, electricians, or builders), a basic DBS might suffice unless they are frequently working in settings with vulnerable individuals. However, if a tradesperson were working in a care home, for instance, they might require an enhanced check due to the nature of the environment.
